The St. Petersburg Opera is dedicated to enriching the cultural lives of the residents of and visitors to the Tampa Bay area by presenting fully staged professional opera productions of the highest quality. We also strive to continually make the opera accessible to present and future audiences through community outreach, educational initiatives, and collaboration with other arts organizations.

An important component of SPO’s mission is to provide stimulating artistic challenges in a professional setting for opera performers in various stages of their development. Our Emerging Artists Program brings a variety of opera programming to retirement centers, hotels, schools, clubs, guilds and other organizations. The company also presents performances in non-traditional venues around the city, aiming to attract new audiences.
